SUMMARY:Workshop at King's College London
DESCRIPTION:I am looking forward to discussing my book HATE and exchanging ideas with academic colleagues and students at King’s College. We’d particularly like to bring together colleagues and research students working in affect studies and/or on contemporary European politics. In preparation for the workshop\, participants are asked to read extracts from my book\, which will be shared in advance.

SUMMARY:#2 Crime & Law
DESCRIPTION:Who is considered criminal and who decides? Do laws actually protect us from (domestic) violence\, and what is needed in the fight against the patriarchy? I discuss these questions in the second edition of What a crime with Asha Hedayati and Friederike Häuser. As a family lawyer\, Asha Hedayati represents women affected by violence in separation\, divorce\, and protection against violence proceedings. She trains social workers from women's shelters and counseling centers throughout Germany\, lectures on family law and child and youth welfare law at universities\, and is the author of the bestseller Die stille Gewalt – wie der Staat Frauen alleine lässt. Friederike Häuser is a social worker and criminologist. She works in the field of right-wing extremism and as a freelance author. Her topics include graffiti\, police criticism\, spatial strategies\, and penal practices. She has published in various magazines and as ikeriminell on Instagram under the motto "I put the no in kriminologie."
